Concept and book for Danish Jazz-­musician Niels Lan Doky. I wanted to implement the unpredictability and improvisation of jazz in the actual artwork, and used it as a means in the typography and text throughout the book. In trying to capture the essence of jazz, the book has an inconsistent visual rhythm on the pages, making it both an experience in photographs, type and text. In working with the concept I wanted to use different kinds of paper for different topics to enhance the experience with tactility and multisensory, but due to economic limitations, only the cover had a soft velvet lacquer added.
